Ronin - Game-ready character
Since I started my 3D career I wanted to make a project like this. As a huge fun of samurais and Japanese culture, I'm really happy to share my new portfolio piece. I started it six months ago and I have been working on it during my spare time.
The purpose of this project was mainly to gain knowledge, using try and error to experiment. Also, I have used new techniques and softwares to step outside of my comfort zone and learn more about industry standards.
I have used Zbrush for sculpting and posing; Maya for modelling particular objects, retopology, UVs and hair cards placing; Marvelous Designer for clothing; Substance Painter for baking and texturing; Unreal Engine 5 for lighting and rendering and Photoshop to create alphas, symbols and presentation. Also, hair cards textures have been created with XGen and rendered in Arnold.
